About the Air Resources Council
Responsible for advising the state Air Resources Division, hearing appeals and reviewing administrative rules.
RSA 21-O:11 establishes an Air Resources Council composed of 11 members including representatives from various industry sectors, municipal government, recreation, public interests, environmental interests and public health. The members of the Air Resources Council must be New Hampshire residents and are appointed by the Governor with the consent of the Executive Council for a term of four years.
Duties of the Air Resources Council
- To consult with and advise the Director of the Air Resources Division with respect to policy, programs, goals and operations of the Air Resources Division, with particular emphasis on long-range planning and public education.
- To hear and decide administrative appeals from Department decisions relative to the functions and responsibilities of the Air Resources Division.
- To review all rules proposed to be implemented by the Air Resources Division.
